This years St. Mary's charity pairs competition was played on Sunday August
17th. Fortunately the weather was such that all twenty teams finished their
thirty games.

Once more this event was supported by outside bowlers who supplemented the
home players. Matches were played from 9.30 to 5pm with breaks for refreshments in between.

Charity Pairs Cups

Four teams achieved maximum points, so making it necessary to find the winner by shot difference. With a 45 shot difference Margaret Wakeham and Fred Cox won.

They were presented with their prizes and the Charity Pairs Cups by St. Mary's President Ken Short.

Thanks to the hard work of the club members in preparing food and refreshments all day, a total of £295 was raised for this years charity.
Jackie Nickels was presented to by Ken Short

The Mens and Ladies Captains nominated The National Autistic Society this year.

Jackie Nickels was presented with this amount by Ken Short. In accepting this cheque Jackie said how grateful the local branch was as they relied solely on local donations to support their work, as no funds were available from the national association.
