BRIXHAM U10s VS TAVISTOCK
U10
Tavistock
35 – 10 Brixham
Brixham started well
in the first game however Tavistock used the strength of the
one outstanding player who was tall enough to be playing a couple
of years up, he ran well and despite several failed attempts
through great tackling he still managed to score the majority
of the Tavistock tries. The first half saw good field position
from Brixham however they never used the overlaps that they
created to full extent and turned round 15 – 5 down ,the Brixham
score from Harry Davies after great work from the backs and
a powerful run from Davies finishing with class, although the
Brixham boys worked hard up front and showed great improvements
in the scrum they were constantly penalised in the loose and
were unlucky to have been called back from clear try scoring
opportunities to be given back the ball for earlier infringements
from the opposition.
The second half continued
in a similar fashion with Tavistock taking control and scoring
some flowing tries after good work and again using the strength
of the flying winger. Eddie Simpson claimed back another try
for the Fishermen after powering through from a quick ball created
by Bradley McKee whose tackling all day was powerful and effective.
The final score ended 35 – 10 to a well-disciplined Tavistock
side.
Eddie Simpson impressed
at scrum half in the absence of Harry Williams and the pack
won all of their own scrums and turned over some of the opponents,
a great improvement on past games, Harry Davies made some strong
forward runs and Bradley McKee impressed all over the pitch
and was unlucky that his speed at the breakdown was often mistaken
and penalised. A much better performance and much better movement
of the ball, well done to all of the team.
Tavistock
10 – 15 Brixham
Both teams rotated a
couple of players but the same basic teams set at it again ,
this time Brixham closed down on the main scorer from the first
game and tackled to the end , Harry Davies ripped the ball out
of a maul and went the full length of the pitch keeping up pace
to shrug off desperate tackles to score a great solo effort,
back came Tavvy with a try only for Alfie Jarvis to finish off
a move created from a turnover at scrumtime,Tavvy replied again
only for Jarvis to score again after reaching at full length
thanks to his team driving him over from 5 meters out.Halftime
score 15 – 10 to Brixham.
The second half was a
tight affair as both teams gave all and defence was on top ,
the Brixham line stayed strong under constant pressure , there
was to be no score in this half however a last gasp tackle from
3 Brixham player forced the diving forward to drop the ball
as he was heading towards the ground , Brixham won the resulting
scrum and Lewis and Eddie managed to run the ball out of danger
in the last move of the match to secure victory, great displays
all round and more improvements from Joss and Brannon who moved
forward well with the ball.
Well played both teams and great improvement
Brixham.
