The World Sailing App is now available to download from the Windows Store, alongside the App Store and Google Play.
The one-stop shop for The Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020 and associated documents for sailors across the globe, was launched earlier this year via an RYA and World Sailing partnership.
Joining the Windows Store means the app is now available to PC users using Windows 8.1 or later.
The Android version of the app has also been updated, bringing smoother functionality for Android users.
RYA Publications Manager Steen Ingerslev said it was an exciting time for digital products adding: “This marks the first in a new series of apps for the PC and helps us better service our customers.”
Now more widely available, the World Sailing App also includes country-specific rules from seven new Member National Authorities (MNAs) – Australia, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Serbia, Sweden and Italy.
Each of the countries’ translated rules and prescriptions have been added as new categories. Steen added: “We are now working on including them into the Integrated eBook to make it a truly multi-lingual product.”
This will enable users to navigate seamlessly between the UK rules, cases and other MNA rules and prescriptions.
World Sailing’s Chief Commercial Officer, Hugh Chambers, said: “It’s fantastic news to have joined the Windows App Store, which gives consumers even more choice. Having international rules instantly available is also a major benefit to any sailors wishing to race in these specific countries. We hope many more will follow suit.”
