Sparex, the Exeter based manufacturer and distributor of farm machinery parts and accessories to a global customer base, has recently been given the accolade of two major business awards.
The South West Region International Trade Awards are an annual event recognising the best businesses in the region for their engagement in international trade.
In prestigious company, Sparex manufacturing unit, Spenco Engineering was awarded the ‘Manufacturing and Engineering’ award.
90% of everything Spenco produces is ultimately exported and the judges were particularly impressed with the details of how Spenco won business to supply machined components onto the production line of a major new tractor factory in China.
Speaking at the awards ceremony in Bristol, Chris Shipton, Operations Director of Spenco said “it is a great achievement and I am very proud of the team at Spenco, we have a fantastic combination of machines and processes, teamed up with a wealth of skills and experience, that’s what makes us a winner”.
Later at the awards dinner the main Sparex Group was awarded the prestigious ‘International Company of the Year’ title. An award given to an organisation that has made an outstanding contribution to the region’s international trade and served as an example to others.
The sheer diversity of Sparex’s customer base won the judges over, with staff and operations in 20 countries as far away as Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and South Africa and customers in a total of 124 countries, making Sparex Devon’s most internationally active company.
