The Men’s Shed in Brixham has handed over its latest project, with help from the Rotary Club of Brixham.
They have donated 12 rocking horses to toddlers groups in the town.
Over the past year, the men have been working on the rocking horses out of a workshop at the back of the Youth Enquiry Service Shop in Bolton Street, Brixham.
Brixham Rotary decided to back the project by paying £220 towards the cost of the materials.
David Bulmer from Brixham Rotary Club is also a member of the Men’s Shed. He said: “We have had a lot of pleasure making these rocking horses and it was such a joy to see the children from the toddler’s group having fun on them.”
Members of the Men’s Shed share the tools and resources they need to work on projects of their own choosing and at their own pace, with plenty of time ‘to put the world to rights’ over a cup of tea.
The Men’s Shed at Brixham meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays and any person interested is welcome to just call in, or telephone Gary Payne on 01803 883794.
Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland is undertaking a national membership recruitment campaign and is looking for women and men of all ages to join their local clubs and make a world of difference to their local community.
