Representatives of the Royal Naval Association, Royal British Legion and the Fishermen’s Mission joined RNLI volunteer crew on Sunday 12 November to pay their respects to fallen service men and women.
Eight members of Torbay lifeboat volunteer crew past and present were joined by area Fishermen’s Mission Superintendent Matt Skinner and more than a dozen guests (representing other agencies) who stood in line on the all-weather relief lifeboat Volunteer Spirit to face the Remembrance Day Parade as it made its way along the waterfront to the service at Brixham cenotaph.
Shortly after the two minute silence was observed, the lifeboat departed for St Mary’s Bay where representatives of the Royal Naval Association, RNLI, British Legion and the Fishermen’s Mission laid four poppy wreaths on the water to remember service men and women lost in conflicts around the world.
The RNLI Torbay all-weather lifeboat (which remained operational throughout) then returned to station. A wreath was also laid at the cenotaph on behalf of the RNLI.Follow
