Late summer sun, great events, and Rugby World Cup fever seem to have encouraged more people to look for a last minute holiday in Devon as independent tourism website stayindevon.co.uk saw a record month for website traffic in July.
July 2015 saw a significant 19 per cent increase on the year before with more people looking to the county for their summer holiday. Marketing Manager for stayindevon.co.uk Matt Fletcher hopes that this will be a sign for things to come for the county;
“We are obviously excited about the fact that we have seen the highest volume of website traffic since launching just four years ago, and hope that this will be a recurring theme for the months and years to come.
Much like last year, we have seen some sustained periods of beautiful sunshine this summer and people have been able to enjoy the beaches and visitor attractions without fear of the weather turning. Furthermore, the events calendar has also been packed with top class events for another year meaning that visitors know that there is plenty to do while on holiday in the county.
With Exeter hosting a handful of group games in the impending Rugby World Cup, we are confident that the county will continue to showcase itself as a top quality holiday destination to overseas travellers and a great value holiday location for those closer to home for years to come.”
Stayindevon.co.uk is also representing Devon and Woolacombe in the Best UK Holiday Destination and Best UK Coastal Resort categories of the 2015 British Travel Awards respectively and wishes to call on everyone throughout the county to cast their vote.Follow
