On Saturday 20th February at 1:30 pm the new entrance hall and (much needed) toilets at Brixham United Reformed Church were opened by Dr Sarah Wollaston MP.
This was an exciting moment for the Church, as it marked the end of another phase of the changes to the former Brixham Post Office, since the church made the bold move to make a home there 7 years ago. This follows a long held vision of wanting to be more accessible to and open for the whole Brixham community.
Revd Lythan Nevard says “We hope that the changes will make our building even more welcoming and provide a useful resource for the community and a place where all can encounter the love of God. ”
At the same time the Church handed over a donation to Brixham Does Care of £700, which was raised as part of a recent gift day. “It is important to us that we raise money to help other local groups as well as ourselves” commented Revd Nevard.
The opening was a great success, as over 70 people attended, including Dr Sarah Wollaston MP and the Chair of Brixham Town Council, Paul Addison. Also present were representatives from all the groups who use the building who spoke of what a great difference the new entrance makes.Follow
