AN EVENING OF TRUE TALES FROM THE BAY AND BEYOND..
Palace Theatre Arena, Paignton – 7.30pm Friday 23rd March 2018
£2 tickets available via www.cometellmehowyoulive.org
We all have a story to tell, and everyone loves to hear a good yarn! We’ve been storytelling since the beginning of time – it’s a big part of what makes us human. But so many go untold, locked away in our memories. Until now…
We have been searching The Bay high and low for some of its great hidden tales, and would love to share them with you at this exciting new evening event at Palace Theatre on 23rd March. From heart-warming or life-changing moments to bizarre happenings near and far, for this first event we explore the theme of “Journeys”.
An event for the whole Torbay community to come together, and rediscover the enjoyment of listening to and sharing extraordinary real-life experiences, presented in a myriad of creative ways and including live music, dance and some fun immersive elements such as the Hear & Now story collecting “Beach Hut”. Plus with the Palace Theatre bar open until late to keep the chatter going, do come join us and make an evening of it!
Ocean Youth and Sound Communities CIC will be bringing their brilliant oral history project “Hear & Now” on the night, plus creative performance contributions from local arts organisations including ROC Creative, Doorstep Arts and Dance in Devon.
James Tyson, Director of the International Agatha Christie Festival, said:
“As the world knows, Agatha Christie was an ingenious storyteller but she was also shy and preferred to observe and listen. This new event is about the festival supporting storytellers of all ages and the wonderful creative projects taking place across Torbay that remind us of our extraordinary histories, from the funny to the deeply moving, that knit together friends, families and communities.”Follow
