This is advanced notice about the latest development proposal to concrete over 70 acres of the remaining green space between Whiterock and Galmpton village. A map of the proposed development area attached. This site has previously been rejected for development, is not included in the Neighbourhood Plan (based on local residents’ views) and is not required to meet current housing targets.
If you want to save Galmpton as a village and prevent its identity being lost in suburban sprawl, it will be crucial to attend the consultation events held during the 11th and 13th May and express your objection forcibly. The status of the neighbourhood plan must be respected even though it has not yet been formally ratified, but the full weight of public feeling must be felt to ensure that this happens as soon as possible
Attached is the notice of the consultation sent by Avril Baker, to stakeholders (i.e. anyone who has an interest in this land). Please note the time you intend to go on the form and mail it to the email given.
Session 1 is from 11.30am – 1pm and Session 2 from 2pm – 3.30pm
Location: South West Energy Centre, Long Road, Paignton, TQ4 7BJ.
If you are unable to attend at these times, you may also like to know that there will be two further public drop-in sessions at the exhibition, from 3.30pm – 7pm on Thursday 11th May and from 10am – 3pm on Saturday 13th May, to which you are also most welcome to attend.
Thank you everyone!
