Brixham Rotarians have elected their new president for the coming year.
Graham is the new president for 2016/17 and takes over from outgoing president, John Burt.
Following a long career working for a major insurer, Graham worked as a freelance IT consultant in a number of fields, including farm payments, offender management and university admissions. Recently married to Lynda, they have 4 grown-up children and two grandchildren between them.
Graham, who has been a Brixham resident since 2001 and worked mainly as an IT Consultant in the insurance sector. He said: “I am thrilled to become the new president of our friendly club.”
“To be a member of this global network of volunteers dedicated to helping people and improving their lives is an honour and privilege.”
“I particularly want to support the people in need in our town. Organisations like Brixham Does Care do amazing work and we want to continue to support our community. We also work closely with a number of other voluntary groups in Brixham and across the bay.”
“As well as all the fundraising, we have a lot of fun and really enjoy ourselves and make lasting friendships. We would love to hear from anyone interested in joining us and making a real difference to their community.”
Graham’s first job as President was to award outgoing President, John Burt, with membership of the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship.
Created in 1957, the award is named in honour of the Chicago lawyer who founded Rotary International in 1905. It is given to show appreciation for contribution to the Foundation’s goals of world peace and international understanding.
