As part of the research to develop the English Riviera’s Destination Management Plan 2016-2021, past and present visitors completing a survey were in with a chance of winning a free holiday on The English Riviera.
The competition winner, Samantha Hayman, is delighted with the chance to holiday again on The English Riviera and has booked her free stay with Beverley Holidays for May 2017.
The online and face to face surveys took place earlier this year, from Easter to July, to all English Riviera visitors past, present and non-visitors, to get a broad perspective of what people think of the resort. The surveys have helped TDA, who are writing the plan on behalf of Torbay Council, to also understand what people look for when they book a holiday, how they use the internet to research and book; and what influences their decision on choosing a destination.
Executive Lead for Tourism, Culture and Harbours, Councillor Nicole Amil, said: “The visitor surveys go hand in hand with the industry survey that engaged with Torbay’s businesses to better understand their needs. To build an effective Tourism Destination Management Plan we have gathered as much information as we can to ensure the way forward for Tourism in Torbay is effective and we exceed the expectations of our visitors.”
Competition winner, Samantha Hayman, said: “I’ve been visiting Brixham for 25 years and love the English Riviera as a holiday destination. I felt it was important to complete the survey and give my feedback to help market this beautiful part of the country. I visit regularly because it is my favourite place in the world. So many more people could and should holiday in The English Riviera and see how fantastic it is.”
The English Riviera Destination Management Plan is soon to be under public consultation on Torbay Council’s website.Follow
