Devon Air Ambulance Trust has been celebrating this week, after reaching 33,000 playing Lottery members.
The charity funded service started its own in house lottery in September 2001 and since then it has gone from strength to strength.
In 2014 sales of the DAAT Lottery equated to over £1.5 million. After small deductions for the prize fund and minimal administration charges, our Lottery members will effectively fund 360 lifesaving missions. It truly does show that playing the Charity’s lottery helps to save lives in and around Devon.
Caroline Creer, Fundraising Director of Devon Air Ambulance Trust said “In September 2001 our first year’s sales were £252,308. This year predicted sales will yet again exceed £1.5 million. In 2014 an average of 76p in the £1 went straight back to the Charity.”
She added “In the last week we have celebrated 33,000 playing members. This is a huge achievement for us. With 89% of our members paying by standing order we are able to keep our administration costs as low as possible. Members can also pay by cheque or at one of our many cash agents.”
If you are 16 or over why not join our Lottery now? It’s just £1 per lucky number a week and you could win one of 13 cash prizes every week, the top being £1350!
The Charity also has a small group of canvassers who sign up members at local stores and door to door. This year alone our canvassers have signed up over 6,000 new members averaging 200 new members a week.Follow
