Recently the Cafe Alf Resco drew hosted the Brixham RFC Under 15 team in holding an afternoon tea to raise funds for their upcoming rugby tour of Holland. Adam, who is one of the weekend Alf’s crew is part of the team and wanted to raise funds for the tour along with his other Dartmouth based team mates.
The afternoon was a great success with £523 being raised through donations and tips. With a great spread of homemade cakes from crew, parents and customers.
Jim Ravenscroft the coach of the Under 15 Brixham RFC said; “Some five years ago the Dartmouth Rugby team folded through lack of numbers. Brixham were also short so the two sides amalgamated and now play as Brixham RFC Under 15 side.
In September 2015, the coaches decided that the boys should go away as a team for a long weekend and the ambitious destination of Holland was chosen with two fixtures against Dutch opposition. Since then the boys have regularly held fund raising events and the Dartmouth contingent recently held an afternoon tea at Cafe Alf Resco in Dartmouth. Our thanks to everyone who supported their event.”
“It was a great effort from the boys who organised and ran the event. Mark Criddle and Jim Ravenscroft, coaches of the team, are both really impressed by their commitment.”Follow
