On 30th July Brixhams gig rowers attended Rame regatta at Cawsands, this even is immensely popular on the rowing calendar and as such is extremely well attended with most races having 18 entries.
The Mens A crew of Karl Oakley, Ben Trayhorn, Stevie Reece, James Agates, Matt Scoble and Simon Mitchell finished 5th overall ahead of Bristol and behind Fowey.
The Mens B crew of Craig Thomas, Ben Trayhorn, Tim Colliver, Chris Mason, Kevin Thomas and Mac McClean rowed themselves to 4th place behind Falmouth and ahead of Cattewater.
The Mens C crew of Pete Dadley, Bruce Nisbett, Joe Nisbett, Bob Moulden, Craig Thomas and Kevin Thomas had a good race finishing 9th between Clevedon and Fowey
The under 16s crew could not follow up a victory a Cattewater with another victory but the crew of Bess Ashworth, Mitzi Pilkington, Joe Nisbett, Lizzie Payne, Anna Nisbett and Joe Butler did make a 3rd place just behind hosts Rame.
The Ladies A crew of Steph Blackler, Amy Plowman, Karen Marshall, Sarah David, Jennie Everill and Sue Putt did not have their best placing but finished mid table in 13th place ahead of near rivals Dartmouth.
The Ladies B crew of Val McClean, Eve Buckley, Andi Colliver, Sacha Adamson, Sarah Tingle, Caroline Dadley had a great start to their race getting to the turn in 2nd place but after a crash suffered damage to an oar but raced on to finish 9th overall ahead of the crew from HMS Raleigh.
The Ladies C crew of Gemma Dadley,Caroline Dadley, Jennie Everill, Racheal Attebury, Lizzie Payne and Lin McRae raced well into 5th place.
In the Veterans races the Mens crew of Lance Worthington, Dave Morralley, Tim Colliver, Mac McClean, Pete Dadley and Mark Ashworth came 5th ahead of Bristol and just behind Looe.
The best result of the day however was that of that Ladies Vets crew of Karen Marshall, Sarah David, Sarah Tingle, Andi Colliver, Amy Plowman and Val McClean who took an outstanding victory finishing ahead of Salcombe in 2nd place.
