Date: Saturday 2nd December 2017
Location: Brixham Heritage Museum
Brixham Heritage Museum got Festive on Saturday with its Annual Christmas Fayre. Delicious home-made jams, Christmas cakes and other seasonal foods were enthusiastically received by a steady crowd of Visitors. This, together with the traditional Raffle, Games, Tombola and some lovely Christmas gifts, ensured the Fayre was a great success.
John Scotney (Vice-Chairman of the Museum) was delighted to receive a generous cheque for £10.345.93 from the Museum Fundraising Team. Chairman of Torbay Council Cllr Anne Brooks joined in with our Visitors to applaud the great work of our Fundraisers and the incredible generosity of the people of Brixham. Thank You All!
9 year old Jake Bunce , Winner of the Big Draw Competition for the 7-11 year olds, received his Prize and Certificate from talented local Artist Lynda Peets. Jake charmed everyone gathered as he picked out the Raffle tickets and helped with the fundraising games. We hope that creative Jake, who is a frequent visitor to the Museum with his family, will be helping us in the future with the design of promotional Posters and publicity for our Education Programme.
We congratulate all our young Brixham Artists. Joseph Weatherill was the Runner-Up in the 7-11 category. The Winner of the Under-6 Category was Scarlett Hill with Runner-Up Edward Weatherill. We hope to see more of their work as they develop their artistic talents. Well done also to Evie Billyeald, representing our many out-of-town Visitors to Brixham, Evie had her Prize sent to her at her home in Berkshire.
We are very happy to report that £1223.65 was raised for the Museum at this lovely event.Follow
