Business recovery and rescue specialists Begbies Traynor have appointed a new partner, based in Bristol and supporting the firm’s South West regional offices.
Paul Wood, aged 42, joined the firm on November 7th.
A chartered certified accountant, Mr Wood qualified as an insolvency practitioner in 2007, and most recently worked as an associate director in restructuring and recovery.
The Begbies Traynor network of offices in the South
West and Wales represents the most experienced restructuring and insolvency team in the region. As the eighth regional partner, he joins a partner group with well over 200 years’ collective professional experience.
He has for many years worked on complex trading assignments and formal insolvency work. The focus of his work at Begbies Traynor will be on reciprocity with invoice and asset-based financiers.
Mr Wood said: “I am relishing joining what is an incredibly strong and experienced team. As the economy continues to make strides, and with the uncertainty surrounding Brexit still in the background, businesses are increasingly turning to advisors at an early stage, and the more skillsets we have that complement each other amongst the team, then the stronger our offering to existing and potential clients.”
Neil Vinnicombe, a South West regional partner at Begbies Traynor since 2011 and a previous colleague of Mr Wood’s 15 years ago when they were both at the Bristol office of one of the Big Four consultancy firms, said: “Paul has spent many years establishing a reputation and broadening his experience, and his network of contacts and business relationships will help continue to drive the firm on.
“Having provided advice to directors, lenders and other stakeholders over the years in relation to their options, Paul is in a very strong position to assist companies in the South West and Wales.”
Outside work, Mr Wood is a big motorsport fan, in particular following the Formula One scene. He has one son and lives in Weston-Super-Mare.Follow
