New 6th Form Centre

Churston Ferrers Grammar School has been awarded a £500,000 grant from the government to construct a new 6th Form Centre. The new block will open in Sept 2012 and will include an extended common room and kitchen, a sixty terminal learning centre and three new classrooms.

The grant was made in recognition of the outstanding results achieved by Sixth Form students at Churston over the last five years. The school is the highest achieving selective school in the South West of England.

Headteacher Bob Owers said ‘we are delighted that the outstanding achievement of the students has been recognised by the government. Our numbers have expanded significantly in recent years with many students travelling across the bay to take advantage of the excellent teaching in our Sixth Form. The new block will allow students the additional space and resources they need to develop as fully rounded young adults'.
