After
the lifeboat crew finished their demonstration the Royal Navy
Sea King Helicopter arrived above the Brixham Harbour, awaiting
instructions, whilst circling at 1800 feet. The crowds waited
in anticipation for the 4 parachutists to exit the helicopter,
which circled again, climbing higher before disappearing into
the cloud base. Eventually as the helicopter reappeared the
parachutists in strong winds leaped out at about 4,500 feet
high.

Trailing smoke, parachutists eventually landed in the Harbour
to be picked up by the waiting lifeboat crews. After all 4 were
safely aboard the lifeboats, the helicopter flew past at 100
feet, to be bid farewell by the waving crowds. |
