Douglas House celebrating 40 years in Torbay!

Douglas House Cheshire Home in Brixham, a nursing and social care home for 29 residents and 20 day care service users, and is one of 180 Leonard Cheshire Disability services across the UK.

Residents are delighted to take delivery of a stand aid.

Donations for its purchase came from:

£250 donation from the trawler race.

In addition £1,243.62 was raised by John Ridge [teacher Brixham Community College and House Tutor for Inspire] who undertook the Brighton Marathon in 2010.

£533.00 from Inspire House Brixham community college.

Other funds were received from Rotary, Astra Zeneca and ‘In memory' donations.

Kay Taylor [Service Manager] explained that the stand aid assists in rehabilitating people to be able to stand independently.

Douglas House is always looking for volunteers or funds to support service users with disabilities.
