The Ministry of David Hathaway

25th March 2011

Dear Ministry Partner

‘Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever' (Hebrews 13:8-9). ‘This is what the Lord says: If you can break My covenant with the day and the night so that one does not follow the other, only then will be My covenant be broken (Jeremiah 33:20-21).

It is easy to read and hear about the things which happened in the Bible without personally identifying with them. But if God did these things in the past, why not believe for them today? Some Christians would dismiss miraculous provision and healing by saying either that these were in the past, or that they were ‘dispensational'; that they can only happen at certain times! The real truth is that they do not want these things to happen! It would disturb the religious ‘order' of their lives.

Years ago I came into a totally new experience of faith – the realisation that if God says it, then He will always do it! This is what faith is: not faith in a promise or a healing, but faith in God as a person; that my God is a God of His Word, who will always keep a given promise! This means that you have to make a conscious decision, either to continue living ‘normally' or to live in a faith-experience of letting God's Word govern your decisions.

Israel Evangelism – Please pray urgently with us!

We are evangelising in Israel 28th, 29th, 30th April. We quickly need to pray in the £150,000 it will cost. – God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above what we ask, think or imagine! He has already prearranged the miracles we need in this ministry – our responsibility is to believe and act in faith.

Our organiser has recently returned from Israel. He wrote:

‘Let me briefly share the latest news from Israel about the crusade preparation; this evangelism is a special experience I have never had before! There is an extremely strong atmosphere of spiritual battle and opposition – and at the same time mighty guidance and the Lord's presence.

‘At present there are around 40 congregations involved in the preparation and trying to bring Jewish and Arab unbelievers to David's service – this has caused strong opposition from the Orthodox Jews. This opposition was strengthened when a Chief Rabbi saw an invitation to the services; he started to agitate all the Jews to persecute these Christians. As a result, an Orthodox Jewish group, Yad Leahim, together with thousands of Jews, attacked several church buildings.

‘But in spite of that, there is a constant process of preparation involving the secular Jews, Arabs – and even some Orthodox Jews. At the moment there are around 20 ‘social support' campaigns all over Israel; according to the local church experience this is the most effective way to create a contact of trust with the population, and to invite people to the services. Local believers are sharing thousands of food packages, clothes, prayer counselling – they are also registering people for buses and personal invitations to the venue.'

Prayer Points for us, our organisers, and volunteers in Israel:

  • That the Lord would be our shield – the glory and the lifter of our heads (Psalm 3:3).

  • That the favour of the Lord would surround us (Psalm 5:12).

  • That the Lord will rescue us from every trap and protect from every disease (Psalm 91:3).

  • That the faithful promises of the Lord will be our armour and protection (Psalm 91:4).

  • That no evil will conquer us – that the Lord will command His angels to protect us wherever we go (Psalm 91:20-11).

  • That even in days of (economic) famine we shall enjoy plenty (Psalm 37:19).

  • That the Lord would command His blessing upon our storehouse and all we set our hand to (Deuteronomy 28:8).

3-minute Ukraine Video Clip – Thank you for praying!

During February and early March, I held a series of meetings in Kiev and Sumy, Ukraine. Salvation Church fasted and prayed for one month prior to our visit. The result? In two meetings, 4000 came; 2000 of whom were unbelievers. Many came forward for salvation and were counselled.

Many people contact us with prayer requests: We have a wonderful group of people who set aside time each week to pray individually for those who ask for specific prayer. – It is our pleasure to stand in faith with you knowing that Jesus is able, and wants to meet every need (Mark 1:40-42). Jesus died not only that we would be forgiven, but so that we can have health and healing – and live in peace (Isaiah 53:5).

There is a tremendous amount to be done in the coming years, especially as the door has now opened into Europe – that is why I will be in Israel this April, followed by crusades in Ukraine, Poland and the Netherlands. We are also looking forward and planning for our biggest programme ever for 2012. The Apostle Paul, writing to the Philippians, said that there has never been the slightest doubt that the God who started this great work will bring it to a flourishing finish!

Thank you for your prayer support.

David
