DART SAILABILITY

Dart Sailability exists to encourage anyone with a disability to take part and enjoy the sport of sailing on the river Dart.

Purpose built boats, which can be adapted to meet the needs of individual sailors are available to enable disabled people to get afloat. A hoist is available to safely lift wheelchairs users into the boats.

Access Sail

Dart Sailability is a Royal Yachting Associations Centre of excellence in the South West and run courses on sailing and power boat training for sailors and volunteers.

From the month of May to September volunteers and sailors are encouraged to develop their skills and gain R.Y.A. qualifications. Such sailing experience and regular practice throughout the season enables Dart Sailability to actively participate in the Dartmouth Regatta and for the first time in 2010 the Multi class Regatta at Rutland .

In any one week Dart Sailability provides a sailing experience for up to thirty disabled sailors. To allow us both to sustain and expand these activities we need both generous sponsors and willing volunteers who are comfortable with disabled people both on the shore and on the river.

If you are interested either as a sponsor , sailor or a volunteer why don't you

come along for a free taster session on Tuesday or Saturday mornings. We are based at Noss on Dart marina on the Kingswear side of the river. Assess to the marina is clearly marked on the A379 road between Brixham and the higher ferry.
