Devon photo competition. This is the second year the Charity

The South Devon fishing
community of Brixham has been the latest of an ever increasing
number of communities that have felt the need to set up
a food bank to alleviate poverty and hardship within the local
community. The rapid increase of the number of food banks across
the UK is an indicator of the problems with benefits and spiralling
debt across Britain.
Sixth Formers at Churston
Ferrers Grammar School competed against each other for the Banter
Cup 2012. The school rugby team took on the school football
team at a game of football during the lunch break on Friday,
10th May.
The
2013 Devon County Show lived up to its billing as the county's
'big day out' as bumper crowds poured into the showground to
enjoy a relaxed day celebrating the best of rural life.
On the third and final
day - Saturday - unbroken sunshine and temperatures in the high
teens attracted record numbers of visitors. All the car parks
- including the overspill car parks - were full by early afternoon
as the county came out in force to enjoy a day at the first
major agricultural show of the season.

Air Ambulance Trust's Motorbike Ride Out Zooms off
If you enjoy going
out on your motorbike alone or if friends, then this event is
perfect for you! So zip up those leathers, grab your helmet
and join us for an 84 mile scenic trip across Devon's beautiful
countryside!
The ride out takes
place on Sunday 14th July and starts at the
Log Cabin diner in South Molton. Bikers will leave from 11am,
but are requested to pre register from 8am.
On Friday 15th March
the Devon Schools Golf Championships took place at Churston
Golf Club. Twenty schools across the county took part involving
99 students all competing to become County Champion.
Crowds
come out for the second day of the Devon County Show
From early morning
crowds started pouring into the Devon County Showground at Westpoint
near Exeter for the second day of the Devon County Show.
Organisers say the
atmosphere was relaxed and happy as visitors enjoyed the early
sunshine and the many features which reflect rural life in the
county.
