This year the Pete Cole and Alan Castle Memorial cups were
played for in an extra special darts tournament at the Sea Anglers
Club, with an additional new trophy in honour of Fred Gilroy,
another friend of organiser of the competition Jack Daniels.

Evening at Berry Head – Why not join in with your own poems?
Brixham Library's Poetry for Pleasure group are holding
a celebration evening of poetry readings for everyone this Friday,
3th September at Berry Head National Nature Reserve.
To celebrate Agatha Christie Week, the Brixham
Adult and Community Learning (ACL) Department are offering a
one day workshop on Tuesday 14th September from
10am to 4pm. The event is aimed at would be crime writers who
wish to discover how Agatha Christie's
life influenced and illuminated her work.
We should be grateful that this Coalition Government has acted
so swiftly to propose the designation of four areas of the Westcountry
coastline, including Torbay, Lyme Bay, Plymouth Sound and Land's
End, as Special Areas of Conservation.
Despite the recession more people enrolled in
adult learning last year than ever before. The Brixham Adult
& Community Learning team anticipate that many classes will
fill quickly as they offer opportunities for future work, a
productive way of filling your time, and ways of saving money.
Annual Exhibition
offers plenty of interesting views
The Brixham Society of Art 2010 Exhibition started on Saturday
28th August with an awards presentation to the artists before
the doors were opened to the public for a week of viewing at
the Scala Hall.
Free
event to help Torbay people find employment and training
Torbay Development Agency (TDA) the council's economic development
arm, in conjunction with Jobcentreplus, is hosting a Jobs Fair
and Employment Advice and Training Seminar (EATS) from 10am
to 3pm on Tuesday 21st September at the Riviera
International Conference Centre in Torquay, to improve the employment
and training opportunities for residents of Torbay.
Brixham's Winter Sparkle Fayre starts
off with its second Christmas Market which will commence at
10am Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th November 2010.
This year's market takes on an exciting new look as bigger and
better experience will be had as it is all under one large marquee
located in Brixham Town Square.
Torbay Council will be holding another Any Questions?-style
session giving members of the public the opportunity to address
the Mayor, Cabinet Members and senior officers before the Cabinet
meeting in Brixham on Tuesday 7th September.

18th September will help provide plenty of ideas.

on the English Riviera, a fiendishly fishy-themed treasure hunt
has been created, which will run throughout the annual Agatha
Christie Festival in September.

OCTOBER sees the return of Brixham Does
Care's annual charity variety show to the Mulberry Room at Berry
Head Hotel, Brixham. Now in its third year, “Memories
are made of this 3” will take place on Wednesday
