The 22-strong club wants to make sure that people in the Brixham area know that its doors are open if they are interested in joining.
Brian Altham, President of Brixham Rotary said: “Joining Rotary is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have forged firm friendships and, by working together to raise funds, we have helped many good causes and charities. Doing things for your community is one of the nicest things you can do.”
“New members of all ages and backgrounds are always welcome, all we ask is that people give their time, are interested in making new friends and use their skills to help others. The more members we have, the more we can help.”
Jerry Hanley is responsible for membership and moved to Brixham some 6 years ago. He says: “Since joining Brixham Rotary, I have met new friends, had a great deal of fun and experienced the special sense of fulfillment that comes from achieving something really worthwhile.”
Joining Rotary means that members follow the motto of Service above Self. Their main objective is service – in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Members meet regularly, have fun, listen to interesting speakers and organise fundraising events which improve the quality of life both in their communities and internationally.
