The
Battery took part in this month's English Heritage sponsored
(advertising only) HOD events on Thursday, Friday and Sunday
afternoons.
Hundreds
of visitors toured the museum and 14 acres of Battery Gardens
where they saw the restored harbour defence pill-box, underground
tunnel and war shelter gun-crew rooms. |

Uniformed
stewards acted as guides accompanying groups as they toured
the site. Visitors were pleased with our restoration and historic
interpretation efforts and showed their thanks by donating over
£200 towards our ongoing 'WAR SHELTER RESTORATION FUND'.
We hope that next year will see the underground crew rooms fully
restored in appearance as they were in 1940 when invasion was
expected from across the Channel! |

Brixham Battery is
open every Sunday, Monday and Friday 2pm - 4pm admission free.
Guided tours are usually held on Sunday afternoons. Please
