At the sixth year of the Brix Awards the entire audience were drawn into an evening of crime busting with guests trying to solve an elaborate ‘who done it?' staged by the Brixham Young Volunteers and the staff of YES – Brixham Youth Enquires Service.

The evening also included musical performances provided by YES's Tuesday music group, with James & Tom Wade entertaining guests during the break.

The presentation of certificates to award winners was also interspersed with interactive games such as “Death by Digits” (bingo) and “Name that book!” (All Agatha Christie Novels).

This year once again many organisations stepped up to nominate and award young people in the town for their commitment to and involvement in their activities such as Brixham Battery Group, the Island Club and Brixham Amateur Swimming Club.

Equally their efforts in planning and hosting the Brix Awards this year were also appreciated as they offered not only the clue busting entertainment and games, but also threw in ‘The Blue Peter challenge' which this year saw guests trying to disguise someone at the table, with a prize for the best disguise.

Guests included many parents and local representatives of organisations such as Brixham Town Council, Brixham Rotary Club and the Port of Brixham Trawler Race Association, as well as the award winning young people. Indeed the highly entertaining programme was enjoyed by all with many trips to the chocolate fountain, in an evening celebrating the positive achievements of young people in Brixham.
