Heritage
Parade rounds the town!
| The nineteenth Brixham Heritage Festival
got underway on Saturday 29th May with the Heritage Parade through
the streets of the town. The Brixham Heritage Museum was well
represented in period costume, with Charlbury Morris Men ready
to dance through the streets to the sounds of their own instrumentals,
including the 'Floral Dance.' |
| Led by Gunner Edgar Lawrance, Brixham's
own Samba Jam set the rhythm and beat for the procession that
included the Pride of Brixham Majorettes singing, |
| Brixham Sea Rangers, Paignton Sapphires
dancing to Madonna and other pop songs and the Rivera Twirl Stars. |
| A few Brixham pirates showed up along
with Cosmo the Clown and Lez the Fez |
and the weather held
off with one shower before the procession started, to the delight
of the large crowds that gathered to celebrate the start of
another week of organised entertainment within the town and
corresponding areas of Brixham.
