Frolics!
The
Brixham Buccaneers welcomed young and old to the quayside
with several of their pirate friends arriving to add to the
Festival fun.

 |
| The Isle of Wight Pirates re- enactment
group set out an area of displays including a bed with a drunken
sailor (not real) to show what life was like in former times!
|
|
|
|
Crews
of pirates also set out from the Golden Hind to round the harbour
and back, whilst the Brixham Buccaneers created plenty of fun
and entertainment for the whole family under the Old Fish Market.

 |
| Pirate Juggler Joe met with Captain
Jack Sparrow as he joined forces with the Buccaneers, but fortunately
the swords for the crowds of children they encountered were all
harmless enough, as they had been made from balloons by Pirate
Les. |

|
For
the younger members in the crowds Melody the Mystic Mermaid
set sail on adventures with puppets and storytelling with audiences
being entertained during the day by music from Doubloon. |
|
|
 |
| The day also offered a chance to look
around Vigilance, moored at the Marina, whilst just outside of
town at Churston pirates were invited to take to the field and
join Brixham Archers in polishing up their skills with bows and
arrows. |

|
| Throughout the evening the Aargh Factor
continued to show off performers in the Sea Shanty and Folk competition
before a spectacular Pirate Sea Battle based on the Golden Hind,
saw a noisy showdown, for the gathered re-enactors keen to acquire
any pirate booty to be found there! |
