TRAIL art moves to
Torre Abbey from Teignmouth
This summer's recycled
art in landscape TRAIL has just ended in Teignmouth. The TRAIL
started in 2006 and attracts thousands of visitors each year
with over 30 artists taking part and many community groups.

Community College (Gill Battye) met recently to find out more
about the enhancements made to Rock Walk which has been renovated
with money from the Sea Change fund.

Two
Authors Visit Churston
Churston
Ferrers Grammar School welcomed two authors in one week this
term: local writer Tim Bowler and Tom Palmer. Tim returned to
Churston to speak to all of year 9 students and to run a creative
writing workshop.

garden is completely accessible and has been created by physically
disabled adult students (who are members of Access to Community
Education - ACE) and supported by volunteers.

set up a magnificent display of at Brixham Adult & Community
Learning Centre photographs reflecting his interest in Geology.
His show is in the entrance gallery and is open from 9.30-3.30pm
Monday to Friday and 6.30-8pm Monday to Wednesday evenings.

Ferrers Grammar School Funk Band
Churston Ferrers Grammar
School Funk Band plus individual winners Eloise and Katherine
were successful in the South West Music Festival at Palace Theatre,
Paignton held between 28th April and 7th May. The students competed
in their chosen classes.

Music Festival
Three students of
different ages from Churston Ferrers Grammar School, year 7
Frederick, year 10 Luca and year 12 Stefan played their saxophones
at the annual Torbay and South West of England Music Festival,
held at the Palace Theatre, Paignton on Tuesday, 26th April
and won the Cropper Trophy.

Creative
Writing High on Rock Walk
On Thursday
19th May at 10.30am Sam Watson will be holding a writing
workshop on the new Rock Walk platform where there are spectacular
views of the Bay. This is part of the Torbay Adult Learners'
Week celebrations and is open to people who would like to use
the location as the impetus for poetry and prose.
