Ferrers Grammar School have recently returned from China following
a 10 day cultural tour which took in the sights, sounds and
smells of Shanghai, Xi'an and Beijing.

Polio Now Cake Sale
Following
the Rotary Club assembly in school on the “End Polio Now” campaign,
Year 7 student Mykaela Humber heard of other students at Churston
Ferrers Grammar School were taking part in the sponsored row
for the Rotary Club of Paignton, raising money for the ‘end
Polio now'.

FROM AROUND THE WORLD COMPETITION
Taste buds tingled
at Churston Ferrers Grammar School on Thursday 30th June, as
students were given a chance of a lifetime. Students from the
pathways cookery class participated in a competition to design
and make a three course menu based around the theme ‘food from
around the world'.

were given a fantastic insight into the workings of a local
major international manufacturing business, Centrax based in
Newton Abbot.

Students Judge Teen-Fiction
Carnegie
Shadowing Group
During the last few
months students from Key Stage Three at Churston Ferrers Grammar
School have been hard at work in their own time reading through
the books short-listed for the Carnegie Prize for Teenage Fiction.
Their task has been to help the judges decide who should win
this award.

Churston
Ferrers Students take on tasks inspired by The Apprentice
Students were given
four lessons to either re-brand an existing product, or develop
their own new product. This task was inspired by the apprentice
and students had to create a scale drawing of their packaging,
build a model of the packaging, record and edit a TV advert,
lasting exactly 30 seconds, record a radio jingle, lasting no
more than 20 seconds and price the product based on market research
and customer surveys.

9 girls at Churston Ferrers Grammar School were keen to help
out and support Miss Emma Gordon, Cover Supervisor when they
heard of her plans to cycle from London to Paris.

Snowdon Climb
On Saturday
the 11th of June my family and I climbed up Mount Snowdon in
Wales to raise money for a charity called Wateraid. Wateraid
helps transform lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene
and sanitation in some of the worlds poorest communities.

Smith: Boring Name, Funny Person
Stand
up comedian and writer Dave Smith walks into the Seminar room
at Churston Ferrers Grammar School in his motorbike gear for
his interview for the school newspaper The Churston Times, apologising
for the fact that he has to take off his outer layer of clothes.

Love
the Coast Young Photographers Competition
15 year
old Sam from Churston Ferrers Grammar School entered a local
photography competition in Dartmouth hosted by Gallery Coast,
the ‘Love the Coast Young Photographers Competition', which
was run from February to April this year, inviting inspired
young local photographers to submit entries related to their
personal perspective of coastal living.
