Sax at Fermoys
The Churston Saxes have been out entertaining shoppers at Fermoys
Garden Centre. They played Christmas Carols on two afternoons,
4th and 11th December, and the shop manager was delighted with
their sound which filled the indoor area of the centre.

Schools ‘Enginuity Challenge' 2011
Three teams of year 7 students from CFGS took part in this
year's challenge to design and model wind turbines which was
held at the state of the art Flybe Training Academy, Exeter
Airport on Friday 9th December.

Brixham hits the shelves
Aiden Shipp, from Churston Ferrers
Grammar School in Brixham, Devon, who took part in the
London 2012 design competition ‘Get Set to make your mascot'
has seen his winning design become an official London 2012 pin
badge. The pin badge is available to buy in stores and online
from today.

Success
for music teacher Jane Anderson-Brown
Paignton soprano Jane Anderson-Brown, music teacher at Churston
Ferrers Grammar School had a very successful day on Saturday
19 th November at the Taunton and Somerset Music and Drama Festival,
receiving six commended awards and a distinction and winning
three classes (English song, French Melodie and German Lieder).

New
6th Form Centre
Churston Ferrers Grammar School has been awarded a £500,000
grant from the government to construct a new 6th Form Centre.
The new block will open in Sept 2012 and will include an extended
common room and kitchen, a sixty terminal learning centre and
three new classrooms.

SAM
Sam, a student at Churston Ferrers Grammar School has recently
passed his Level 1 Football Coaching course at Devon F.A. Headquarters
in Newton Abbot on 23rd October, 2011. 16 year old Sam is the
youngest in Devon to qualify and one of the youngest, if not
the youngest, in the country.
