The artists, guests and Rowcroft representatives gathered together at the Breakwater Bistro to officially unveil the 2009 calendar and to announce that the partnership will continue for 2010. The event was very well attended and the Breakwater Bistro's owners Lee and Kerry were on hand to make sure guests enjoyed a glass of Pimms and some nibbles.

Hannah Simmons, Acting Fundraising and Communications Manager said: “It has been a lovely evening and we were thrilled to see so many people at the bistro supporting the calendar. Our thanks go to all of the artists who have worked so hard to make this calendar a success. We are also extremely grateful to Lee and Kerry at the Breakwater Bistro for providing the drinks and nibbles for the evening.”

The Shoal of Brixham Artists have generously donated images of South Devon , for the second consecutive year, to create Rowcroft Hospice's 2009 calendar. The collective of artists who are based in Brixham all have their individual styles and work in a variety of mediums – pastels, inks, watercolours, oils and photography.

Artists who have contributed to the calendar are John Gillo, Chris Slack, Ian Millstone, Nicky Stevenson, Monica Gamble, Lynee Peets, Pru Preston and Julia Finzel.

Nicky Stevenson, Chairman of the Shoal of Brixham Artists commented: “Many of us have seen first hand the work of Rowcroft Hospice and could not think of a worthier cause to support. We are delighted to have formed this successful partnership and hope that it will continue for many years to come.”

The calendars are available to buy now at a cost of £4.50 and can be purchased from the Rowcroft Hospice shops, the Breakwater Bistro and Friends of Rowcroft events. The aim of the calendar is to raise vital funds for the local charity who care for people in South Devon living with life limiting illnesses.
