Presenting Pictures by Chris Slack

From the age of 15, Chris Slack has been a keen photographer, capturing the changing mood of the landscape, and in more recent years Brixham has provided him with a rich source of images.

His passion has now grown into a profession. With a new updated website launched last month, Chris has successfully been offering his work for sale through the internet over the last couple of years. He is also to be found throughout the summer months selling his photographic prints at the Arts and Craft Market down at the Old Fish Market on Saturdays.

Night Sky His work includes many lovely views of the harbour taken from different angles at different times of the day, whilst many other pictures celebrate the power of raging seas and the port's activities. Chris has managed to generate many classic shots of working and racing trawlers, Heritage Vessels, Tall Ships and the Torbay Lifeboats.

Chris says, “I'm often out in stormy weather, when the waves are bigger and better and when most people are tucked up in the warm. I specialize in local landscapes but as the website shows, I love photographing in Devon and Cornwall and getting out on Dartmoor. I also enjoy wildlife photography, and have had great inspiration from getting up close to the work of the RNLI.”

Stones Chris also enjoys taking commissions for interior photography of holiday homes etc. Many of these pictures have been used in publications, brochures and on websites, whilst some pictures end up framed for personal enjoyment on the walls of the homes.
