Furzeham
Fete
The annual Furzeham
Primary School Fete was held on Friday June 20th this year.
Head Teacher Andrew Kinder and those involved in the preparations
were forced to make last minute adjustments, to ensure the afternoon
events went smoothly, as the changeable weather focussed activities
indoors! |
|
Inside they turned the school into a bustling venue, where excited
children still in uniform, pulled their parents around to their
favourite stalls and ‘must do' activities. |
| The Brixham Buccaneers were on site
providing one of their puppet shows, balloon making activities
and a sing- a-long, whilst ‘Where bears are Born' had everyone
guessing the name of the Bear with the prize of a voucher to build
your own bear at their shop in Middle Street. |
 |
As children enjoyed games like Feed the Shark, Find the Dragon's
Tooth and had hairy spiders hunting for other spiders; parents
were encouraged to sample cream teas, visit stalls of cakes, win
raffle prizes and eat candy floss! |
‘Sponge a Bobby' proved
to be a very popular task, and even though it was positioned
outside, the rainy weather never deterred the children's' enthusiasm
to line up and throw sponges at their local police officers
PC Gary Williams and PCSO Jamie Cree. The plant stall was also
located outside with the plants not minding the weather either!

Head Teacher
Mr Kinder said that ‘all money raised this year would go towards
the new Furzeham School Library.' |

Representatives
of the Brixham Heritage Battery Group were on hand dressed in
their re-enactment gear.
Fred stood to attention
whilst Dave merged in with the surrounding bushes dressed in
his camouflage.
