ART
EXHIBITION at Brixham Adult & Community Learning Centre
A Care Worker who paints
in acrylics in her spare time has staged her second exhibition
in Brixham. Chrissy Elsworth trained as an art teacher and now
specialises in print and mixed media. Her current exhibition
is full of bright canvases illustrating the joys of nature through
meadows, sea and nightscapes. |
| Chrissy uses glitter
paint and found items such as sweet papers to bring the picture
to life. Her work is greatly admired with pieces selling as
soon as the show opened.
She has also included
three male nude torsos painted in vibrant pinks and red tones.
Her greatest fans are
the ‘ACE' students who she cares for each week at the Thursday
Group. They found her work ‘stunning' and ‘admirable'. Chair
of ACE, Chris Wardley said, “Chrissy keeps her talent a real
secret. We knew she was artistic because she is such a help
in our practical classes, but we didn't realise she was a professional
artist who produces such outstanding work. It has been a real
treat to be able to enjoy this show. The flower meadows are
brilliant and nightscapes draw you in, especially when viewed
from a distance.”
Chrissy's work is on
show until the end of term (July 21st ) with
access when the centre is open, 9.30am to 3pm, Monday to Friday
and 6.30-8.30pm, Monday to Thursday.
