BRIXHAM DOES CARE wishes to say a BIG “ThankYou” for the wonderful support shown by the local community during 2016.
Another successful Variety show, Memories Are Made Of This, took place at the Berry Head Hotel in October and raised £876.60 for our charity.
The line up for the evening included Rebecca Clifton, Alison & Mike Neal, Totnes School of Dance, Jim Hopkinson, Martyn Paddon and, for the first time, local band Pendulum 5.
In December, our annual Mince Pie Morning Christmas Singalong in the Scala Hall this year featured the children of Furzeham Primary School Choir, expertly conducted by their teacher, Mrs Booth.
Their enthusiastic rendition of specially selected festive songs:
Hope Of Heaven, Silent Night, Because It’s Christmas, Dear Santa and Rocking Around The Shops delighted the audience, who then did their best to “follow that” themselves, singing along to Christmas songs ranging from Bing Crosby to Slade. Refreshments, Stalls, Tombola and a Raffle completed the scene and together managed to raise £786.97. Many thanks to all who helped us in any way.
Those who attended might want to note in their diaries the details of our next social gathering, Martyn’s St Valentine’s Song & Dance Party, to be held in the Brixham Does Care Café (situated in the Town Hall) on Monday 13th February 2017, 1.45 to 3.45pm.
Doors open at 1.30pm. Tickets £3 (incl. cuppa & slice of cake) from BDC office (next door). Why don’t YOU come along and sing along, and enjoy a great afternoon of fun and entertainment?
You might even fancy a dance. See you there!Follow
