On April 28th and 30th Churston LAMDA students participated in the 76th Torbay and South West of England Festival at the Palace Theatre in Paignton. There were several categories that we entered such as Solo Drama, Duologues, Shakespeare and Musical Theatre. All students received a certificate for participating and several won cups and medals.
This was a great opportunity to showcase the wonderful work that the students had been preparing for their LAMDA examination in March. We hope this will become a regular event for Churston Drama students. Many of them said it was a really useful experience to be able to perform at professional venue to a paying audience. The adjudicator commended the students on how they were able to engage the audience on such a big stage using only minimal props.
They were also given constructive feedback on their pieces. Overall the students went away with a sense of accomplishment and confidence after participating in this event.
