Today,
in this uncertain world, our only hope as individuals – and
as a nation – is in prayer. God will answer. James 5:16 says
the prayer of a righteous man has great power and produces wonderful
results! (NLB)
More
than anything at the moment I am praying: Lord teach me how
to pray! The disciples in Luke 11 asked Jesus: “Teach us how
to pray!” You know what Jesus said: “When you pray, say, ‘Our
Father…”' The church recites the formula and when it gets to
the end it says ‘Amen!' But that is not the end; it's only the
beginning, because Jesus went straight on: ‘If you've got a
friend who has come a long distance – if you are British, you
will give him a cup of tea; but if you are Russian, you are
going to feed him! But you don't have any food in the house
and you don't have any money! And your friend has come from
far away and he's hungry! You've got nothing!” – Luke 11:5.
What do you do? Jesus said – and this is prayer – “Go to your
neighbour and knock on the door! Because it is midnight everyone
is in bed, so you keep banging on the door. But your neighbour
says: ‘Go away! My family is in bed, we've got to get up early
for work in the morning, go away!' But you keep on banging,
and the neighbour says: ‘Go away, if you don't stop, the baby
will wake.' But in the end, what does your neighbour do? He
gets up and shouts: ‘What do you want?'And he gives you the
food. Why? Not because he loves you; not because he's your neighbour;
but just to get rid of you!”
Jesus
is not talking about food, He's talking about prayer! He says,
when you pray, you must keep banging on the door until God answers
you! He will answer – not just because He loves you; not just
because you are His child; but because that is the only way
to shut you up! You have to learn this lesson: keep on asking!
Talk to the Lord. Call on Him until you get the answer! Persist!
Don't quit! Don't stop asking until you get your miracle! That
is why the Bible says, ‘pray without ceasing'!

Jesus,
teaching on prayer in Matthew 6 said: “Here's what I want you
to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so that you won't be tempted
to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly
as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and
you will begin to sense His grace. The world is full of so-called
prayer warriors who are prayer-ignorant. They're full of formulas
and programmes and advice, peddling techniques for getting what
you want from God. Don't fall for that nonsense. This is your
Father you are dealing with, and He knows better than you what
you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very
simply.' (The Message paraphrase)
Please
continue to pray for the upcoming ministry in Poland and Holland.
– We have
some incredible opportunities, but it is only prayer that will
produce the wonderful results we are believing for.
We quote Ephesians 3:20 regularly in our office prayer times,
but its truth underpins all that we do: ‘ God is able
to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask, think
or imagine – infinitely beyond our highest prayers, hope, dreams
and desires.' God is able to provide the extra £100,000
we need each month to pay for the evangelism. God is able
to find a suitable venue in Holland for the evangelism.
Following the April evangelism in Israel, the pastors are inviting
David back for further meetings – God is able to supply
all the resources we need according to His riches.
David
will be ministering in De Betteld, Holland 15, 16, 17 July.
– This is in preparation
for nationwide evangelism. Pastors and leaders from across the
nation are gathering together – believing that the same God
who touched Georgia and Lithuania last year, can do the same
thing in Holland. All the meetings from De Betteld will be broadcast
