‘Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.'  Philippians 3:13-14

“Sixty years of ministry is not a time for looking back, but looking forward. In the last ten years I have seen more of the blessing and the power of God than in all my life before. I have not finished the job I began 60 years ago, and I cannot finish until Christ returns. In these days God is going to pour out His spirit like never before. I can never stop, I can never give up. I want to be part of what God is doing! – I believe the best is yet to come.”

David Hathaway

Praise Reports – Ukraine (Visit our website for regular reports and photographs from this trip)

On Friday, having landed on time in Odessa, David had to travel to Kherson by car, 230km on sheet ice between banks of snow at an average speed of 20mph/35kph! It took six and a half hours! Our TV crew took seventeen and a half hours to make the journey by road from Kiev, eventually making a long detour via Odessa because of roads closed by snow and ice! The journey from Kiev is normally 7 hours – 343 miles!

Despite the treacherous conditions, the facility was packed, and people attended not just from Kherson, but from other regions including Crimea. The inviting Pastor, Vitaliy Shaluhin, received a new vision and strategy through David's ministry in the great revival meetings in Mayaki in 1992; he began his own church and since 1994, he has worked together with us in evangelism. Shaluhin said, “Though the evangelist is the last of the 5-fold ministries, it is the evangelist who tears down strongholds and makes the work of the church to bring in the harvest easier.”

After two days in Kherson, on Monday David travelled to Tsurubinsk. Until now, there has been one small Baptist church and a cell group of just 15 people – there has never been evangelism held there. The plan of the Kherson church was to bring the light of the Gospel into the city before the Government turns Tsurubinsk into Ukraine's own ‘Las Vegas'! The people came despite the weather, and they came forward to repent. There were some remarkable healings, including a young man healed of crippling scoliosis that he was born with!

Last night David was evangelising in Nikolayev. Oleg Sherbakov, the inviting pastor, was only a young man in David's pioneer meetings in Kiev in 1992 and 1993, when the freedom first came. Oleg was one of the prayer team, personally saw miracles of healing for the first time – and the anointing has never left. In 1994, Oleg joined David's team in the pioneering 3-month summer evangelism in Siberia, then immediately afterwards for one month in Ukraine. As a result of the evangelism in Nikolayev, a new church was planted and Oleg became the pastor. Today he is responsible for 30 daughter churches, 6 prison ministries, 4 Jewish congregations, and 3 rehab centres.

Many attending the meeting last night stood to receive Christ, said the sinners' prayer and were counselled. Afterwards more than half of those present claimed to be healed, and some outstanding testimonies were given from the platform, including one woman who became deaf as the result of a botched tooth extraction. Not only could she now hear perfectly, but all the pain in her body had gone too! The second Nikolayev crusade meeting is tonight.

Please pray that God will give David the strength for this trip – it involves many car journeys on difficult roads in treacherous conditions. Tomorrow David will be Odessa, before travelling to Kiev for meetings in two churches this weekend.

Ukraine is currently in political turmoil. As of today, Wednesday, a Ukrainian court has suspended the result of the recent presidential election. The Prime Minister, who lost the election, claims the election was rigged even though international monitors have said there are no significant flaws in the vote. The election was narrowly won by a pro-Moscow candidate. In 2004, a similar stand-off led to the Orange Revolution. Ukraine is culturally and politically split in half between those who want ‘Western' freedoms and democracy, and those who favour a return to the ‘old' Soviet alliances.

June – Armenia and Georgia

This crusade in Yerevan is the largest project we have ever undertaken. Just as in the days of John Wesley and the Welsh Revival, faith can, once more in our time, be even more powerful than anything else we can imagine! The churches have united and begun the organisation. We do not have the resources, but we cannot fail them. We are living in desperate times – people need the help and hope only found in Jesus! Your support is vital for the work in Armenia. Please pray that God will work a miracle and supply the finance for the ongoing payments.

Join us in Armenia: Special Tour and Crusade, 9-16 June

We have arranged through Worldwide Christian Travel, a special package tour: 9-16 June 2010. The tour will cost £1,220 per person and includes return scheduled flights from London, hotel, tour guide, and special trips to the various UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Armenia. This opportunity and these 3-days of ministry will be amazing, and we don't want you to miss it!

We agree in faith with you for your needs knowing God is able!

Under the leadership of Evangelist David Willows – a personal friend of David Hathaway – every Thursday we pray for you, our partners – especially for those who request specific prayer by writing or telephoning the office. Jesus came that we would have and enjoy life in its abundance. We stand in faith with you over your needs knowing that Jesus is able, and wants to meet every need (Mark 1:40-42). Hebrews 7:25 assures us that Jesus ever lives to intercede and intervene on our behalf.

Thank you for supporting this ministry – David says, “Without you and the power of the Holy Spirit it would be impossible for us to evangelise. We appreciate your regular support. My staff read your letters and stand with you in faith for your needs.”

Thank you in Jesus' wonderful name!
