Dear Prayer Partner August 2011

‘Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don't be afraid or discouraged by the size of the task, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. He will see to it that all the work related to the Temple is finished correctly' (1 Chronicles 28:20).

God will fulfil every word He has spoken, He cannot fail! I want to see what God has said, happen in my life-time! I'm not going into the Kingdom of God until I have done the job God has given me to do! As a teenager, God so impressed Romans 12:1 on me: ‘I beseech you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.' God is talking about normal service, nothing exceptional – for every believer – the norm. The challenge is ‘reasonable service' – giving your whole life as a ‘living sacrifice'! Everything! God didn't call me to be an ‘evangelist' or a ‘preacher' – He said He wanted ALL of me! Even Jesus, when talking to His disciples about reasonable service said, ‘When you have done everything that was assigned and commanded you, say, “We are unworthy servants, for we have not gone beyond our obligation; we have merely done what was our duty to do”' (Luke 17:7-10 Amp).

My work is to preach the Gospel. I don't live for anything else. I only live to see the glory of God, the incredible power of God – but in doing do, I have to trust Him completely! In our office, we pray a lot over money. When you rent large arenas, as we are for Israel this year (and next year in May in Krakow, Poland; also the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam in June), it costs a lot of money! ... How can we raise the kind of money that we need? We can't do it – but God can! Often times I feel challenged: do I have enough faith, do I really believe God? But when I look back over my life, all I know is that my experience with God is step by step. Every step, however difficult, however impossible, creates another miracle towards experiencing the power of God in my life!

God is not going to let me grow weary, faint, or die until I have finished the job – but there is a tremendous amount to be done! The Apostle Paul writing to the Philippians said, there has never been the slightest doubt that the God who began this work will bring it to a flourishing finish!

This summer I was challenged again by God! As you will have read in the latest edition of Prophetic Vision magazine, we have received a joint invitation from Christian leaders in Israel – the challenge: come back this year! The letter, signed by Senior Pastors and, incredibly, the President of Association of Concentration Camps and Ghetto Survivors in Israel, said:

‘There are not enough words to express our gratitude for your obedience to the Word of God and to God's Call on your life. Thank you for coming to Israel in the spring!

‘Here in Israel we need in an evangelical leader like you who responds to the Divine call with total faith, loving people, embodying freedom and courage, obeying God always and unconditionally.

‘Faith in Christ has a critical role in responding to the realities of the Middle East. Therefore, we Israeli leaders agreed to invite you to return to Israel – this year! We clearly see from our perspective that it could reshape our future and that of Israel at this very critical time, if you will hold another evangelistic event in the Holy Land!'

How can we fail to respond to this challenge? It is our ‘reasonable service' to preach the Gospel – Jesus called it our ‘obligation' and ‘duty' to tell the Good News.

Please pray for our ministry in Israel which will be in Haifa, 24, 25, 26 November! We have some incredible opportunities, but it is only prayer that will produce the wonderful results we are believing for. We quote Ephesians 3:20 regularly in our office prayer times, but its truth underpins all that we do: ‘ God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask, think or imagine – infinitely beyond our highest prayers, hopes, dreams and desires.' God is able to provide the resources we need each month to pay for the evangelism. God is able to protect the event organisers and workers from terrorist threats and harm. God is able to heal and restore the lives of all those attending the services.

And, God is able to bless and take care of you too in these difficult economic times. For those of you who are struggling with sickness or any other difficulty I would encourage you with Psalm 55:22, ‘Cast your burden on the Lord, release the weight of it, for He will sustain you.'
