Initially Italian cuisine was chosen, as this was an area not as yet really catered for in Brixham, in a bid to appeal to local people as well as visitors. This was well received, with great pizzas and pasta dishes made to order, so as well as offering restaurant meals, Charlie's also began to cater for those just out for coffee with a snack or dessert.

This led to the couple decided to offer a whole new experience, with old fashioned homely dishes including pie, liquor and mash, faggots and peas dishes more at home in the East End of London where Sheila originated from!

The service was commended recently by the Cappellas of Brixham who wrote to Sheila and Charlie saying, 'thank you for making the family themed dinner party so special and memorable. We are grateful for the extra effort you made, advising on a menu, cooking on a Sunday and delivering with perfect timing.'

Other locals are now making use of the restaurant as a venue for holding parties.
