New Brixham Harrier's beginners' group

Do you want to start running and lose weight in a friendly social environment? Brixham Harriers is offering a new beginners' course, with the aim of working with budding runners slowly to build up their confidence.

The course will run on Tuesday evenings from 7-8pm starting on January 31 and is aimed at complete novices who are keen to get fit but might find the thought of joining a running club daunting.

The course is suitable for men and women of any age with sessions tailor made to each individual, support and advice from more experienced runners to help with motivation and endurance.

The benefits of joining an organised running club include having other runners around to keep you motivated through the year on wet and cold winter nights. Runners will be with friendly, like minded people and everyone will be safe being part of a group.

Brixham Harriers is a UK Athletics affiliated running club with a depth of experienced runners in all distances. The club aims to include all abilities from social runners to those actively participating in races.

Throughout the year regular social events are organised including a fun run to raise money for a local Brixham charity.

The club meets at the Admiral Swimming Pool, Ranscombe Rd , Brixham on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7pm and Sunday mornings at 10.30am.

Tuesday evening sessions are targeted at mixed abilities, Thursday sessions are aimed at more experienced runners and Sunday mornings are generally used for distance training.

Initial sessions are free.
