Geology photoshow opens at Brixham Adult & Community Learning Centre

David Ayres has just set up a magnificent display of at Brixham Adult & Community Learning Centre photographs reflecting his interest in Geology. His show is in the entrance gallery and is open from 9.30-3.30pm Monday to Friday and 6.30-8pm Monday to Wednesday evenings.

As David was setting up, he was surrounded by adult students admiring his work and wanting more details on location and geological features. Several art students thought that his photos would be a good starting point for their own work.

David said “I was in the Royal Navy when I was young, and my interest in geology started as I travelled around the world, as was my interest in photography. Later I did an Earth Science degree with the Open University, and learned much more about the Earth.

Now I live in the English Riviera Geopark, with world class geology right on my doorstep. Unlike many other areas, the rocks in Torbay are visible in many places, particularly along the coast. I love to explore the many coves and beaches in Torbay, when I am not exploring the tors on Dartmoor.”

His show is a precursor to the English Riviera Geopark festival which takes place from 25th May to 5th June.
