The Brixham Society of Art 2010 Exhibition started on Saturday 28th August with an awards presentation to the artists before the doors were opened to the public for a week of viewing at the Scala Hall.

On Saturday 7th August the Torbay Steam Fair road procession took place from Paignton Sea Front to the grounds of the Fair at Churston and this year was made up fifteen tractors in memory of Tractor Marshall Mike Endean who passed away shortly after last year's show aged 60.

Pipers and drummers celebrate 100 years for Dorothy!

On Wednesday 28th July the rousing sound of pipers and drummers could be heard all around Brixham harbour, as members of the Hill family saluted the 100th birthday of Dorothy Mable Hill, with the procession along the quayside heading up Overgang to join the planned festivities for Dorothy's centennial celebrations, at Brixham Yacht Club.

A life Remembered

A Life Remembered

One of Brixham's last generation of door delivery milkmen has died after a short illness. Cyril Brice at one time ran a fleet of four vehicles delivering bottled milk to many of the town's homes.

He was also well-known for the fruit, vegetables and flowers he grew on land at Berry Head and behind his home in Castor Road.

Brixham Battery launched its 'Repair and Restoration Appeal' this week end. Over £500 was raised from our fund raising coffee morning held at the Community Methodist Hall in Fore Street on Saturday and at our D-Day commemorative event held at the Battery museum on Sunday.
