'I
urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession
and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all those
in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all

Armenia
Praise Report!
Many people say that
the day of mass evangelism is over – but look at what happened
in Armenia – this demonstrates the miraculous power of God!
Just before I left for Slovakia, I had a phone call from the
Pastors in Armenia telling me that after our Easter crusade
meetings in April, the government officials summoned the pastors
for a meeting.

Swine
flu—Is it evidence of evolution?
Just as with AIDS and avian influenza (‘bird flu’),
the latest virus alert is being hailed as proof that evolution
is true.
In some places (e.g. Egypt), pigs were slaughtered in an effort
to guard against swine flu. But with human-to-human transmission
of the virus now confirmed, authorities in countries like Australia
are looking to increased quarantine measures, including school
closures and travel restrictions, to limit its spread.

limits on federal funding for embryonic stem cell research,
this debate can only intensify in the months and years upcoming.

A
real floating Ark makes headlines
around
the world
There's
been lots of publicity of late regarding Johan Huibers' “Ark”
replica (Creation 30 (4):12–14, September 2008), with many people
emailing press reports/photos from around the world. But those
reports don't make clear the key message of the replica, viz.,
that the Bible can be trusted! Hence we have decided to break
our usual 12–month web embargo, and make available our online
archive of the Creation magazine article right now while public
interest in the “novelty” of Johan's “Ark” is so high. Our hope
is that Christians will let their friends and acquaintances
know of the article, which clearly states Johan's passion and
reasons for constructing his “Ark”—i.e. to proclaim the Good
News of our Saviour Jesus Christ. This is a great article about
the truth of the Ark to forward around.

Supporting
the homeless in the Torbay
Shekinah Project:
The old ‘Project 58' in Torquay now the ‘Shekinah Project'

that Christians in Brixham could support their work by donating
food and specific items. These are listed on a leaflet to be
given out to all the churches. Brixham United Reformed Church
will provide a central collection point for the charity and
take any donations there to conserve fuel.
Times the URC church
will be open to leave donations are:
Tue
10am-12.30pm, Thurs
2pm-4pm and Sun
11.30am - 12.30pm. |
