BRIXHAM BATTERY 15th
Lottery weekend
Brixham Battery Group's weekend 15th Lottery Anniversary events
were very well supported.

|
Over 100 people visited
the Heritage Centre at our 'Meet the Home Guard' event on Friday
afternoon.
Roger Goulding from
the Committee of the Heritage Lottery Fund appeared to be 'very
impressed' with our museum collection and project exhibition. |
|
He gave good advise regarding our
current lottery grant bid which is around 20k for the 'War Shelter
Project'.
If successful we
will be able to show next years visitors the underground ammunition
tunnel and the adjoining gunners rooms that will be refurbished
as of September 1940 when Nazi invasion appeared 'imminent'.

Saturday evenings
play 'BERT' featuring actor Nick Lucas as Sir Arthur 'Bomber'
Harris held the 80 strong audience at the Methodist Community
Hall spellbound!
Nick was able to transport
us back to the dark days of 1939-45 in an amazing solo performance
- he was given a 'standing ovation'. |
